About the Role 

This is a full time position based in our Support Centre in Milton.

Our Creative Programs Advisory Team creates an atmosphere of fun and excitement in our services by hosting a wide variety of events and activities for clients, including dance and arts activities, sports and recreation events and other general activities.

Creative Engagement Advisor will support the development and facilitation of innovative and client centred, creative programs and activities. This role will contribute to fostering a sense of community and connectedness, ensuring staff and volunteers are supported as they creatively engage our clients in activities of interest to them. This will include assisting in planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the client’s assessment and care plans.

Based in Lutheran Service Support Centre in Milton, with frequent travel through Greater Brisbane and regional QLD. This role will also assist in preparation of funding submissions and program or service proposals relevant to projects and activities that positively influence and improve our clients’ quality of life.

The ideal applicant must be confident in forming strong networks with relevant organisations, community groups and developing relationships with clients and their families. A Diploma in Business, Teaching, Arts, Creative Industries, Public Relations or be able to demonstrate related experience in a similar role will be highly regarded. Furthermore, they must have excellent communication skills, be prepared to work in innovative ways, motivate others and have a strong knowledge and understanding of adult learning needs.

You will be required to provide information in relation to pre-existing medical conditions or injuries relevant to this position and submit to a pre-employment medical.

Selection criteria

  • Highly developed skills in facilitation and one or more creative modalities (e.g. visual art, music or theatre).
  • Well-developed communication skills and networking strategies.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptive with ability to motivate others.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and engaging with stakeholders such as volunteers.
  • A self-starter with ability to manage their own workload.
  • Computer and report writing skills.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Interest in working with people who are ageing or have a disability.
