Join Our Cooinda Aged Care Team as a Chef - Create meals that matter!

Location: Gympie - QLD
Remuneration:
$39.98 ph (includes 25% loading) + Super + Salary Packaging + Access to staff discounts & benefits.

Role Type: Casual (including providing coverage for annual leave between September to November 2026 and December to February 2027)

Your Role – More Than Just Cooking:

 

  • Prepares and presents varied, nourishing, and appetizing meals that align with dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment, maintaining hygiene and compliance standards.
  • Collaborates with catering staff, residents, and care teams to enhance meal services.
  • Work with the Head Chef to fostering a high-performance and team-driven culture.
  • Assist with menu planning, budgeting, and stock control.
  • Collaborates and innovates with the team to deliver continuous improvement cost-effectiveness and resident satisfaction.


What You Bring to the Table:

 

  • A relevant trade qualification (Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen, ideally in Aged Care or large-scale catering.
  • A valid Queensland Driver’s Licence.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor and guide staff.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and WHS compliance.
  • Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
