About the role:
We currently have an opportunity for a part-time Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health team at Cooinda in Gympie. The Allied health team, provides services within the 164-bed Cooinda residential aged care home. As an Occupational Therapist, you will undertake assessments and implement appropriate therapy and/or rehabilitation programs. You will assess, document, and evaluate programs and treatments, as well as contribute to and participate in education programs for residents/clients, relatives, and team members. Experience with home modifications would be useful for this role.
This role is part time, 60 hours per fortnight (4 days per week)
About you:
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who has an interest in rehabilitation and a desire to encourage clients to develop and maintain a level of fitness conducive to a good quality of life, and to maximise their independence. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work successfully as part of a multidisciplinary team. You must possess relevant qualifications and be registered with AHPRA. An understanding of issues experienced by elderly people, their families, and carers is important, along with a positive Federal Police Check and an Australian driver's license. Knowledge of the equipment and services available in the Aged Care sector, as well as the knowledge of the various funding sources for Aged Care, will be highly regarded.
