Join Our Immanuel Gardens Aged Care Team as a Chef/Cook - Create meals that matter!
At Lutheran Services, we believe that food is more than just nourishment, it’s a source of comfort, connection, and joy. We are seeking a qualified and passionate Chef/Cook to be part of a team creating high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of our aged care residents.
Remuneration: $38.88 - $39.28 ph (incl.25% casual loading) + Super + Salary Packaging + Access to staff discounts & benefits.
Your Role – More Than Just Cooking:
- Prepares and presents varied, nourishing, and appetizing meals that align with dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment, maintaining hygiene and compliance standards.
- Collaborates with catering staff, residents, and care teams to enhance meal services.
- Work with the Head Chef to fostering a high-performance and team-driven culture.
- Assist with menu planning, budgeting, and stock control.
- Collaborates and innovates with the team to deliver continuous improvement cost-effectiveness and resident satisfaction.
What You Bring to the Table:
- A relevant trade qualification (Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen, ideally in Aged Care or large-scale catering.
- A valid Queensland Driver’s Licence.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor and guide staff.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices and WHS compliance.
- Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
