Make a Meaningful Impact in Aged Care Chaplaincy
Location: Buderim and/or Gympie
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time, (0.4 FTE) 15 hours each location
Remuneration: $37.36/ hour (SCHADS L2.2) + Superannuation
Join Lutheran Services as an Aged Care Chaplain and provide spiritual, emotional, and pastoral care to residents, families, and staff in our aged care communities. This role offers the opportunity to serve people of any faith—or none—in an inclusive and welcoming way, making a profound difference in the lives of older Australians.
About You
You’re compassionate, empathetic and have strong interpersonal skills. In this role you will support our residents to have holistic wellbeing. You will have:
- Pastoral Care training and experience (Clinical Pastoral Education or similar)
- Theological/biblical literacy
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Police Check, NDIS clearance, and vaccinations as required
- Lutheran Church of Australia Professional Standards Training (or willingness to complete)

About the Role
This role is critical to providing spiritual and emotional support across our aged care sites. You’ll be responsible for:
- Providing pastoral care and spiritual support to residents, families, and staff
- Coordinating and leading worship services and other spiritual activities
- Supporting residents in their faith traditions or engaging external religious leaders
- Building strong relationships within the site community and local congregations
- Maintaining pastoral care records and complying with aged care standards and Lutheran Services guidelines
