We’re seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Officer to deliver the Youth Justice Education Training (YJET) Program. Supporting Young People Through Flexible Education.

Location: Intercept – Caboolture, QLD
Employment Type: Part-Time, Fixed Term (68.4 hours per fortnight)
Contract End Date: 31 December 2025
Classification: SCHADS Level 4.1

About The Role:
As a Program Officer you will deliver the YJET Program which supports young people who are either disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education to engage in flexible education and complete their year 9 and 10 Maths and English competency. You will be facilitating the delivery of curriculum and building professional relationships to prepare them for the future.
As a Program Officer, you will:

  • Build trust and rapport with young people through structured and supportive mentoring
  • Support young people to develop learning plans and achieve individual goals
  • Create a safe, inclusive environment for engagement, learning, and personal growth
  • Liaise with schools, youth services and families to coordinate wraparound supports
  • Participate in program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement

About You:

  • Understanding of the unique challenges of a disengaged young people.
  • Ability to facilitate and tailor group learning needs and adapt regularly.
  • Capacity to lead with empathy and engage de-escalate strategies.
  • Knowledge of local services to provide relevant referrals.
  • Background in youth work, education, training or community services
  • Calm, confident and adaptable in small group or individual settings
  • Committed to trauma-informed, person-centred practice

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening
  • QLD Driver’s Licence
