About the Role:

We're seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our Youth Mental Health and Disability Support program. As a Youth Mentor - Musician, you'll have the opportunity to harness your musical talents to establish a music group with our clients aged 10-25, empowering them to unlock their potential through the transformative power of music.

In addition to one-on-one mentoring, you'll be instrumental in facilitating both group and individual music lessons, fostering social connections, enhancing life skills, and promoting independence among our young participants. Your role will encompass not only musical guidance but also day-to-day youth work, creating a holistic approach to their development.

This is a casual position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a music group for young individuals with NDIS plans, fostering creativity, self-expression, and teamwork.
  • Provide engaging one-on-one and group music lessons, tailoring instruction to the needs and interests of each participant.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor, supporting young people in developing social skills, building community connections, and increasing independence.
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement innovative programs that address the unique needs and interests of our youth.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in playing a musical instrument and a passion for sharing your talents with young people.
  • Experience in youth work, mentoring, or similar roles, with a focus on empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Current working with children check (blue card) and NDIS Clearance.
  • A current Australian driver's license and the ability to work autonomously.
