Support Student Wellbeing & Engagement in a School Environment

We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Youth Support Officer to join our team supporting young people at Kilcoy.

Location: Kilcoy
Part-Time Role | 8 Days Per Fortnight | 7:54 AM – 4:00 PM
Contract: Fixed-Term until 12 December 2025 (Potential for Extension)

About the Role:
You’ll work directly with students to support their wellbeing, resilience, and engagement with school life through evidence-based programs and one-on-one support.
As a Youth Support Officer, you will:

  • Deliver and support wellbeing and personal development programs aligned to school and departmental frameworks
  • Provide mentoring and individual check-ins with students, including strengths and needs assessments
  • Collaborate with school staff, youth workers, and community services to build a holistic support network
  • Collect data and feedback to help review and improve programs
  • Contribute to program planning, capacity-building for facilitators, and reporting on student engagement

About You:

  • Experience working with young people in education, youth work, or community services
  • Strong communication and engagement skills with students and staff
  • Ability to build trust and deliver support with professionalism and empathy
  • Skilled in program facilitation and feedback delivery
  • Comfortable working in a school setting with vulnerable or disengaged students

Requirements:

  • Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid QLD Driver’s Licence
