About The Role:

Lutheran Services is seeking a strategic and accomplished leader to join its Executive Leadership Team as Head of Commercial. This senior role is responsible for shaping the organisation’s long-term financial sustainability and leading key commercial services that enable high quality, values driven service delivery across a multi-site, complex environment.

Reporting to the Executive Director – Corporate Support Services, you will lead financial strategy, planning and analysis, ensuring resources are aligned to organisational priorities. You will oversee long-term financial forecasting, performance reporting, and risk management frameworks, providing timely, data-driven insights to support decision making at executive and board levels.

Beyond finance, you will also provide strategic oversight of Lutheran Services’ significant property and assets portfolio. You will lead asset planning, capital works forecasting, lease and facilities management, and lifecycle maintenance strategies to ensure the organisation’s infrastructure is fit-for-purpose, future focused and delivering optimal value. The role also supports due diligence and feasibility work on major capital projects, leasing, acquisitions and divestments.

In addition, the Head of Commercial oversees procurement and payroll, ensuring services are compliant, efficient and customer focused. You’ll drive process improvement, champion value for money outcomes, and ensure these essential services are responsive to business needs.

This highly collaborative position plays a critical role in enterprise-wide initiatives, working closely with peers across the executive and leadership teams to support transformation, align commercial strategy with operational delivery, and embed sustainable business practices.

About You:

The ideal candidate will bring senior leadership experience in finance or commercial roles, deep expertise in financial strategy and governance, and the ability to lead integrated corporate services. Experience in property or asset management and working in human services or not-for-profit sectors is highly desirable. Most importantly, you will be a values led leader, committed to building high performing teams and contributing to Lutheran Services’ mission and purpose.
