Your Role – More Than Just Cooking As a Chef you will:

  • Prepare and present varied, nourishing, and appetizing meals that align with dietary needs and preferences.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment, maintaining hygiene and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with catering staff, residents, and care teams to enhance meal services.
  • Lead and support kitchen staff, fostering a high-performance and team-driven culture.
  • Manage kitchen finances, including menu planning, budgeting, and stock control.
  • Evaluate and improve catering services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resident satisfaction.

What You Bring to the Table

  • A relevant trade qualification (Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen, ideally in aged care or large-scale catering.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor and guide staff.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and WHS compliance.
  • A valid Queensland Driver’s Licence.
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
