Registered Nurse – Flexible Country Home Care (School‑Hours Friendly)

Step into a nursing role with freedom, flexibility and real connection — no two days the same.

Are you a Registered Nurse who wants more time with clients, more variety in your day, and the chance to make a genuine impact in your local community? Join our Home Care team and enjoy meaningful, one‑on‑one care while travelling through scenic country areas in the Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim.

This role is ideal for someone seeking school‑hour-friendly work, flexibility, independence and a supportive team culture. If you’re committed to supporting older people to live safely and independently at home, you’ll feel right at home with us.

Location: Based at our Laidley Home Care office, supporting clients across Tabeel Home Care (Laidley), Teviot Home Care (Boonah) and the country towns and communities throughout the region in between.

Employment Type: Initially 56 hours per fortnight, with the potential to increase as service demand grows
Pay: Salary based on experience (starting from $38.83/hr) + Super + Salary Packaging + Staff Discounts & Benefits

A Role With Lifestyle Built In

Enjoy a nursing career that gets you out and about — not stuck in one place all day. This role gives you the freedom to work independently, spend your day travelling through beautiful countryside, and build genuine connections with clients in their own homes.

Instead of shift bells, ward pressures or rushing from task to task, you’ll enjoy a calmer pace, meaningful one‑on‑one care and the satisfaction that comes from supporting older people where they’re most comfortable.

Every day brings variety: peaceful drives, friendly small communities and the unique privilege of providing care that truly makes a difference.

You can choose to use a pool car or your own vehicle and claim mileage — whichever suits you best.

Our Supportive Clinical Environment

You’ll be joining a service where you are never on your own. Lutheran Services provides a strong, structured clinical network designed specifically to support Home Care nurses and prevent isolated practice. This includes:

• A Community of Practice for collaboration, discussion and shared learning
• Access to Clinical Care Partners
• Support from Nurse Practitioners
• A Clinical Support Lead Team who ensure safe, contemporary practice and ongoing clinical guidance
• A culture where clinical innovation is encouraged and celebrated
• A genuine commitment to professional development and reflective practice

For the right candidate, opportunities exist to pursue additional education such as a post‑graduate certificate in geriatric nursing or infection control, with structured support for your growth.

What You’ll Do

• Provide person‑centred nursing care in clients’ homes
• Complete assessments, care plans and clinical documentation
• Mentor and support Home Care Workers across both service areas
• Build strong, trusting relationships with clients and families
• Provide clinical guidance, reassurance and support
• Plan your day efficiently — grouping visits by location and using initiative to minimise unnecessary travel
• Work collaboratively with Managers, Coordinators and health partners
• Ensure care is delivered in line with Aged Care Quality Standards

About You

• Current AHPRA registration (Nursing)
• Experience in home care, aged care or community nursing
• Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills
• Highly organised with excellent common sense — confident planning your workload across a broad region
• Able to work independently, think ahead and use initiative
• Committed to supporting older people with dignity, respect and compassion — just as we are at Lutheran Services
• Confident mentoring and supporting care staff
• Current Driver Licence and reliable transport
• NDIS Worker Screening and/or National Police Check

This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, variety and naturally plans their day in a smart, efficient way.
